Clarity of Vision & Why.

Man by his very nature is a goal seeking; striving to become his very best self…..need to get clear on your purpose and what you want out of life.

Essential to write your goals down…powerful vision emerges when we couple our dreams with a set of clear goals

Greatness is really the survival of someone's vision across and extended time period.

Clarity of vision creates hope, which lowers barriers to achievement.

A good Why will help propel you to your goal even when your willpower fails.

Visualization is key (call to mind your vision of success, see it, feel it). Use conscious mind to program subconscious.

Don't be a donkey (story: donkey died because he couldn't decide if it should eat food or drink water first). You have time to do more than just one

thing in this life, but you can't do everything.

     Finding your Why:

Purpose will not find you, you need to search for it (Finding purpose is developmental, not sudden. We do things to discover what to do...).

Meditate on what you are natural inclined towards; look for underlying patterns, a core to your character .

Must understand yourself as deeply as possible.

(Earthly) Fulfillment = Autonomy + Competence + Connection.

Autonomy - internal locus of control.

Competence - your are good at what you do. Find your rare and valuable skill! In needs to be an obsession.

Connection - add value for others and the world. Develop a "craftsman" mindset...."What can I offer the world?" Not, "What can the world offer me?"

Hope is Essential.

Hope that tomorrow will be better than today and your vision is achievable.

However, hope is destructive without believing the outcome is within your control or influence - Develop internal locus of control.

Action, Action, Action.

The quality of your life = the sum of your movement to moment decisions and actions.

Even if you don't know what you are doing, fake-it until you make it (Act "as if" you already achieved your goals).

Habits Are Key - Persistent and Consistent Action.

Success is consistency around the fundamentals (i.e.: develop successful habits).

Old habits are the things you are.

Our self image and are habits tend to go together (the fastest way to change your personality is to change your habits).

To get big results, you need to compound your actions over time (i.e.: momentum / "lining up your dominoes")

Daily ritual and habits are key

    Mastery

Mastery is focused pursuit (i.e.: action) towards a long term goal.

10,000 hours (average time it takes to master something. Equivalent of 5 working years).

Build a well - only through years of hard work (i.e.: action) in a specific are can we really tap into our true potential.

Focus on amassing a huge quantity of work, but with quality (Quality doesn't have to necessarily be sacrificed for quality).

Giving 100% is what is expected, giving 110% is what separates you from the pack.

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Personal growth lays just outside your comfort zone....Pain is Necessary.

If you want more, you have to become more.

If you are restless, chances are your goals aren't challenging enough.

Embrace adversity….overcoming obstacles is what makes great people great.

Focus and Enjoy the Journey, not the Destination.

Must love the doing (i.e.: action), not just the outcome.

Willpower is Finite - You Need to Use it Wisely and Conserve it.

Minimize daily decisions - simplify or automate.

Small acts of discipline help to improve willpower.

Likewise, a clean and organized environment is also conducive to willpower. .

Don't Follow the Crowd.

    Get rid of limiting beliefs

It is All About Value

In all aspects of your life, you need to maximize the value you offer.
